Window restoration includes the following:

  • Removing side stops, sashes and parting stops

  • Removing weather stripping from the opening

  • Removing the paint, putty and glass from the sash and side stops

  • Repairing and resetting the joints, (mortise and tenon pins), sanding, treating with preservative, priming, painting, cleaning glass, bedding glass, glazing and finish coating of paint

  • The sash is returned and installed with chain and attaching hardware

  • The casing stops are installed with screws and finish washers

Window repair is fixing individual parts or systems:

  • Broken glass

  • Damaged parts

  • Missing components, etc.

  • Inoperable because it is stuck or painted closed
